At the mouth of the Russian River is the small town of Jenner. Not much to see, mostly a coffee shop, tourist shop and State Parks Visitor Center, but it is the gateway to the beauty of the North Coast.

It was warm, but turned out to be a bit blustery. Not a dive day. Still, I was here. It was primeval and beautiful. (Wide)
Hiway 1 rises up the jagged cliffs, but this is well before the heights of the Dramamine Hiway.
A wind blown sea above a wind swept shore leads south down the Sonoma Caast.
Sea lions sleep in their calm, protected haul out. A lot of times they are shuffling around and barking at each other.
Lupins grow above the Russian River. The mild moist conditions of the coast support beautiful displays of many wild flowers.
